THE ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE OF THE NATIONAL STATISTICAL INSTITUTE - A SYNTHESIS BETWEEN TRADITION AND MODERNITY

Abstract: The management of the society, economy and social sphere is based on sufficient in volume, objective, varied and detailed information. To meet the growing demands for reliable, timely and comparable statistical information, the statistical institution makes a number of changes both in research methodologies and organizational structure. This article aims to present the development of the statistical authority since its establishment in 1880 to the present. Emphasis is placed on the main issues and challenges facing the state statistical body during different periods, changes in its subordination, the significance of the changes in structural and organizational aspect and achieved results.<br><br>
