FOR THE NEED TO INCREASE STATISTICAL LITERACY AND CULTURE

Резюме: The authors make note the need to increase the statistical literacy and culture of the population. The ways in which this can be achieved are indicated - by improving the curricula and the teaching of the teaching material in the section ‘Probabilities and Statistics’ in the mathematics classes at school. Another activity that appears to be useful in this direction is the continuing education of teachers. The necessity of systematic training courses for mathematics teachers for teaching statistics is substantiated; it is also recommended to prepare and disseminate relevant teaching materials on applied statistics for teachers and students.
